How to Write Obsessively Good Content with AI
The Art of Borrowing Successful Ideas
Today, I'll demonstrate how to write obsessively good content with artificial intelligence. I'll show you how to use writing examples and guides as a template to state your ideas better—even if you're not a writer.
Remember when the hot headlines about AI promised you could 10x your productivity? I believed it too. There were more blogs, more tweets, more videos, more images—the idea was that more content equals more success.
Well, it didn’t completely happen that way.
The Reality of AI-Generated Content
Instead, while one project’s search impressions grew by 400%, some AI-generated content was judged by Google and removed from search listings. But now, I know exactly why that content failed.
I've been in this game long enough to see what works and what doesn’t. I've learned that more content doesn't mean more impact. The real win is quality.
We can no longer use AI to mass-produce keyword-stuffed articles. That strategy worked in the past, but SEO has changed dramatically.
If we don’t use AI to refine our content, we are sure to lose in the long run.
Why the Internet Needs Better, Not More, Content
The internet doesn’t need more content—it needs better content. Content that actually teaches people how to solve a problem.
So today, I’m going to show you how I’m doing it. AI isn’t just for doing more—it’s about doing it better.
I’ll walk you through the steps to use AI to improve your content’s quality, not just increase your output.
Flipping the Script on AI Writing
In this tutorial, I’m flipping the script. Instead of using AI to create more content, I’ll show you how to use it to enhance the format of your ideas—and that will change everything.
So let’s dive into how to write obsessively good content with artificial intelligence.
I’ll show you how to take writing examples and writing guides and use them as a template to state your ideas more effectively—even if you're not a writer.
Learning from Successful Writers
Now for the practical part of the video.
When I first started writing on Medium, I came across Kristen Walters' profile and studied a lot about what she was saying.
One of her posts, "How I Would Start an Anonymous Creator Business Over from Scratch," is a great example of how your work can keep generating value long after it's published.
The Art of Borrowing Successful Ideas
Scrolling quickly to point number five in her post, Kristen highlights a common challenge for new creators—knowing what to create.
She recommends:
Don’t reinvent the wheel—steal like an artist.
She researched new books by unknown authors that were selling thousands of copies per month.
Then, she built her own version of those books and targeted the same keywords.
You can apply this exact strategy to YouTube, blogging, or any other content platform.
The Power of Finding an Unofficial Mentor
Another key strategy she recommends is to find an unofficial mentor—someone who is already succeeding at what you want to do.
Don’t buy their courses. Instead, just follow what they’re doing and actually do what they do.
Training AI to Learn for You

Train your AI to write in the style you want.
I recently wrote a post called "Stop Learning and Start Training Your AI Agent."
It focuses on doing this same thing, but instead of spending time manually studying successful creators, we can train an AI agent to do it for us.
How to Automate AI Learning
In this post, I reveal my strategy for analyzing and replicating successful writing techniques.
Here’s how:
Collect sections of an expert’s work.
Compile them into a PDF.
Give the document to ChatGPT.
Instead of reading all their articles and manually learning the format, we can let AI break down:
The content structure
The tone
The key storytelling elements
This allows us to identify repeatable patterns in their writing—without spending hours studying their work.
The Do and Show Article GPT
I created a custom GPT, which you can access via the link below the video. It’s called the "Do and Show Article GPT."
How the Do and Show Article GPT Works
I collected numerous stories about the Do and Show article style.
I trained a GPT model to recognize this format.
Now, when I feed it content, it automatically transforms it into a well-structured article.
But Do and Show is just one of many different writing styles.
Exploring Different Writing Styles for Maximum Impact
Here’s my mentor Derek Hughes, discussing different content outlines that make writing effortless.
Popular Content Structures That Work
The Bridge Outline – A persuasion powerhouse.
The List Outline – "Top 5" or "Top 10" posts that always perform well.
The Contrarian Outline – Taking an unconventional stance on a topic.
The Problem Outline – Introducing a problem and leading to a clear solution.
These different formats help structure your writing in a way that keeps readers engaged and interested.
From Studying to Training AI to Write for You
So, we started off with the basics of studying what works.
Then, we moved on to the idea that instead of studying everything manually, we could train an AI model to do it for us.
We then explored different article styles that we could train AI to replicate and improve.
Coming up next, I’ll walk you through how to apply these AI-powered techniques in real-world content creation.
Diving Into a Case Study on Medium
Earlier, I introduced a custom GPT designed to format content into the Do and Show article style. We also explored various article formats that can be modeled for better writing.
Now, I want to dive into a specific case study.
I conducted extensive research on Medium about how to write effectively. I collected a variety of reading lists featuring articles that teach specific writing formats.
Finding Inspiration from High-Performing Articles
Some of these articles were fantastic and inspiring. One of them, for example, received 6.7 thousand claps and 141 comments—which means the content helped a lot of people.
However, as I read through it, I realized it was more of a general list of writing tips rather than a specific breakdown of how to structure a piece of content.
That’s what I was really looking for—an article that lays out a clear structure for content creation.

Proven writing patterns can be modeled by the top LLMs
Then, I found something perfect:
An article titled "How to Make Your Readers Obsessed with Your Work."
This author had studied 50 viral articles and discovered an uncommon pattern that consistently worked.
As I scrolled down, I saw that the pattern was clearly laid out.
This is exactly what I needed!
I could extract this structure and apply it to my own content.
Now that I had the structure, I wanted to take it to ChatGPT and automate the process.
So, I took the article’s format and structure and asked ChatGPT:
👉 "Take this article structure and generate a detailed prompt for an LLM (large language model) to rewrite a provided draft into this format."
The Result: A Powerful AI Prompt for Content Formatting
The result was a very long and detailed prompt—one that could be used repeatedly for LLM-powered content generation.
I took it one step further and created a new project where I embedded this massive prompt as an instruction set.
Now, whenever I input any idea or draft, the AI automatically structures the article just like the viral article I analyzed.
Using Full-Length Articles as AI Training Material
Another powerful technique I tested was taking the entire original post and feeding it to the GPT as a reference example.
How to Train AI with Full Articles
Copy the article text.
Paste it into a document and save it as a PDF.
Upload the document into the AI project.
Now, instead of relying on a basic prompt, the AI can refer to a full example and use it as a template.
Testing the Output
I ran a test by feeding in the beginning of the article and asking the AI to rewrite it in the same format.
The result?
📌 A well-formatted, first-person article that was easy to read and engaging.
However, there was one issue—the content was still in the original author's voice rather than my own.
That meant I needed to rewrite it to reflect my own experiences.
Automating Article Creation with AI Workflows
But here’s where it gets even better.
I realized that I could take these same prompts and integrate them into an automation system, so that content could be generated automatically.
Five Storytelling Blueprints That Make Writing Easy

This is where the time savings come in - automation.
Earlier in the video, I demonstrated the Before and After Bridge article format.
Now, let’s explore five powerful storytelling blueprints that simplify content creation.
Enhancing AI Prompts for Better Storytelling
I started with a basic prompt and refined it into an enhanced prompt that improves:
✔ Storytelling flow
✔ First-person engagement
✔ Clear and compelling article structure
This allows AI to generate content in a way that feels natural and engaging.
Exploring Different Storytelling Frameworks
Over time, I’ve developed multiple AI-driven article styles, including:
Before and After Bridge – A transformation-driven storytelling method.
Epiphany Storytelling – Sharing a sudden realization that changed everything.
Problem-Agitate-Solve – Presenting a problem, making it worse, then offering a solution.
Do and Show – Teaching through real-life examples.
Hero’s Journey – A classic storytelling format that keeps readers engaged.
Automating Content Creation with AI
To take things even further, I had ChatGPT split the prompt into three structured parts that could be used within Make.com, an automation tool.
These included:
✔ System Prompt – Provides overall AI behavior instructions.
✔ Assistant Prompt – Defines how the AI should generate responses.
✔ User Prompt – The actual input prompt users provide.
After setting this up, I went ahead and created more AI storytelling scripts, including:
✅ The Before-After Bridge
✅ Hero’s Journey
✅ Problem-Agitate-Solve
✅ Contrarian Storytelling
✅ Accidental Discovery Format
