Secret Shortcut to AI Content Your Audience Is Asking For
How to Find Trending Topics Your Audience Wants
I want to take this old inactive Facebook page and see if I can revive it, grow a following, and turn it into a revenue stream using artificial intelligence.
I think it's pretty risky for me to document and share this whole process because I could just be wasting all my time, but I think that the automations behind this process are not as out of reach as you might think.
So, I really wanted to try this out and document all the steps to show if this is a shortcut for lodge and resort owners to use or if it’s better to do all of your social media and content manually.
There are two challenges for this project to overcome.
➤ First, it has to be automated, so it takes almost no time for me daily.
➤ Second, the content has to be interesting for the audience it’s intended for.
To automate this system, I’m using the no-code, free forever platform called Make.
Look Inside the Content Blueprint
I’ve overcome that first hurdle by automating the entire system. You can see how it’s running really smoothly every day, publishing to all of the pages on Facebook. It’s also making a search engine-friendly blog post for us as well.
Content That Your Audience Is Already Interested In
➤ In this video, I want to talk about how to make content that this audience will be genuinely interested in.
I’ve been working on these automations for months now, and I’m super excited to have over 540 subscribers on YouTube. Over 313 people have joined the course and the free giveaways. This is amazing to me, and I’m super happy to be answering all the questions from people who are setting up these automations. Thanks for jumping in, everyone!
Automating Weather Updates and Event Information
➤ The first step in reviving these old Facebook pages is to set them up with content that our audience has already told us they're interested in.
Since our example business is a fishing lodge, our daily updates will focus on the weather at the lodge, events in our area, and answering a question that our audience has been asking online. The daily weather report is an easy way to organize content that keeps the page active and fresh. This is a really important credibility builder when people first visit your page.
The main automation grabs the weather from an RSS feed in real-time. Then, it gets information from a spreadsheet that we’ve gathered and put together for our lodge. It pulls an image from the spreadsheet and writes an article on each of the different Facebook pages for us. After the articles are written, we gather them together into a draft post on Medium or our WordPress website, where we format them into long-term pieces of content for our business.
The automation continues to post on Facebook, Reddit, and also update Twitter. The content that goes into the automation comes from our spreadsheet, so we can include local events like the Sault Blueberry Festival. We can post in advance, and our automation will take care of it throughout the year.
Daily Content Automation (by author)
It’s really easy now to use ChatGPT or Perplexity AI to gather a list of events in your area. Then, you can double-check them and simply put them into the spreadsheet. The automation takes care of gathering that information and writing a report that goes out on social media.
Showing Credibility Through Automation
If we were to only use this part of the automation to update our Facebook and provide a small update on each social platform, this could have a profound effect on our business.
It shows that the page is active with recent information and that we are involved with local community events. These are important credibility and trust builders when someone visits your page for the first time.
But I want to go a step further and ensure we’re offering really useful content for the audience we’re targeting.
I want to answer questions and solve problems that they are already talking about online.
So, in this part of the video, I’m going to show you a recent discovery I made while following along with Grace Leung from YouTube, where she showed a number of different methods for finding trending content.
Finding Trending Topics with a Reddit Map
Her video is really worth watching, and there’s a link to it here, but I’m going to save you some time and show you my favorite method.
This is the custom search parameter trick she uses on Google. When we combine that with another tip she gave, it is amazing. Grace introduced me to the Reddit Map, and I’m going to show you how to use this tool to find the content your audience is interested in.
I’ll start by typing “fishing” into Reddit’s search bar and head to the fishing subreddit. From here, I zoom out and show where this topic fits into the entire content universe on Reddit. I want to ensure I’m utilizing all the relevant keyword phrases here in the Adventureland subreddit. Now, using Grace’s tip, I’ll do a search to find out what questions people are asking in these subreddits.
Using Reddit to Find Real Audience Questions
We can search the subreddit for any questions that include “how to,” “what is,” “where to,” “how can,” “how I,” and “why do.” As we gather this information, we can add those questions into our spreadsheet.
Then, we’ll have artificial intelligence answer these questions in real-time using research from the internet.
For example, I’ll input the search parameters.
I can narrow this down to questions asked in the last year, like “how to cast farther” or “tips on how to get a fishing hook out of a fish’s stomach.”
Now, we can use the Reddit Map to surf around and get an idea of what keywords are more popular.
For example, the subreddit “Walleye fishing” only has 6,000 members, but “Bass fishing” has 250,000 members.
By searching for questions in the Bass fishing subreddit, we can quickly find a list of the top questions people are asking. These questions can then be added to our spreadsheet, so every day, our AI will answer a relevant question that people are actually asking about our topic.
Automating Q&A with AI
I’ve come up with a few questions, sorted through them, and copied and pasted them into place. Now, I’ll put the automation to work and add a command for it to look at each question and provide an answer.
You can see here that I’ve added the daily question-and-answer task. The AI, like GPT, is instructed to create a 200-word answer for each question.
➤ I’ve also set up the blog post so that the question and answer will appear at the top, before the seasonal fishing tips for different fish species.
Tomorrow, this automation will run in the morning, and I’ll go in and edit the initial article to see how it turns out. I’ll make adjustments to ensure it works smoothly and takes little time for me to edit afterward.
Bringing It All Together: Full Automation
So, here’s what we have now: an old inactive Facebook page, a one-year marketing plan, events from our lodge, fishing pictures from our lodge, and questions that people are actually asking online that we can answer in our blog posts. We can continue finding more and more questions throughout Adventureland and answer them on our blog.
The Reddit Map has been a fantastic resource for finding the questions people are asking, and now we’re building them into our content plan. We’ll let this process run over time.
This automation is 97% automatic. I leave the last step of the blog post for my human review before publishing it.
